Om Mariana
I hold a Master Degree of Fine Arts in Choreography (120 higher credits) at SKH - Stockholms Konstnärliga Högskola, in Sweden (2020-2022). Until 2020 I lived and worked in São Paulo, Brazil. She has a bachelor's degree in architecture and urbanism from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie (BR), and carried out artistic training at C.E.M - Centro em Movimento (Center in Motion) in Lisbon, Portugal, going through F.I.A. (Artistic transdisciplinary formation/investigation rooted in body studies) and creative internships (2009-2011).
Besides my solo creations, she developed projects in collaboration with several artists. Some of my choreographic works are “The Chicken” (2022), "Ter(e)mim" (2020), "Intrapelícula" (2017), "Membranes Project" (2011-2015) - which unfolded into the performances "Membranes I - Peel It Off" (2013), "Membranes occupy the square" (2014) and "Double Membranes" (2015), performed at festivals, galleries and venues in Brazil and US.
As a dancer and performer, I collaborated in a wide range of projects by choreographers and artists. Since 2022 I have been collaborating as performer with Gustavo Ciríaco in “Tomorrow’s yesterdays” (Portugal), and as co-researcher in “On mother tongues”, part of PhD candidate Caterina Daniela Mora Jara’s research project in Stockholm University of the Arts/ SE. I acted as dancer and creator in the performance "Monstra" (2017-2020), directed by Elisabete Finger and Manuela Eichner and presented in cities throughout Brazil, as well as in Uruguay, and Sweden.

I am a Brazilian/ Italian dancer, choreographer and teacher based in Stockholm, Sweden. In my works I explore choreography in transdisciplinary approach and investigate dance creations that relate to architecture, visual arts and sound.
I have taught dance and movement creation since 2005 in free classes, workshops, schools and public projects. Some of my works in artistic educational field were: as a dance teacher and artistic coach in the Vocational Program, which is a project sponsored by São Paulo’s City Department of Culture focused on training, artistic guidance and the emancipation of groups from the peripheries of the city and inspired by Paulo Freire’s pedagogy (2014 to 2016); as a guest art teacher for some courses at Associação Escola da Cidade – School of Architecture and Urbanism, in 2017 and 2019.
