Om Eranga

I’m an Information Technology professional and educator with a genuine passion for technology, learning, and helping students discover their potential in the world of IT.

I hold an MSc in Information Systems from Uppsala University, an MBA from Cardiff Metropolitan University, and a BSc in Information Technology. Alongside my academic background, I have more than 10 years of professional experience in the IT industry, primarily working as a Software Test Engineer, and more than 12 years of experience teaching ICT and Computer Science to students.

Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with different technologies, software systems, databases, automation, software quality assurance, artificial intelligence, and other areas of IT. This experience has taught me that technology is much more interesting when you understand how it works and why it is useful—not simply when you memorize theories.

This is one of the main reasons I love teaching.

I enjoy taking a difficult technical concept and explaining it in a simple way that makes sense to the student. Seeing a student go from “I don't understand this” to “Now I understand how it works!” is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching for me.

I want my lessons to be a place where you can ask questions, make mistakes, experiment, and learn without feeling pressured. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my explanations and exercises according to your level, goals, and learning style.

I also want to help students understand that studying IT is not only about passing exams. The knowledge you build today can become the foundation for a future career in software development, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data, networking, software testing, systems analysis, or many other areas of technology.

Whether you are just curious about computers, struggling with a particular subject, preparing for an exam, or seriously considering a career in IT, I would be happy to support you on your learning journey.

My goal is simple: to make IT easier to understand, more interesting to learn, and useful for your future.
