Om Jakob
At the age of 35, with a PhD in political science under my belt, I've been fortunate to engage deeply within the academic world. My work as a researcher at Leuphana University Lüneburg, coupled with my enriching experiences as a visiting scholar at Uppsala University, Oslo University, and San Francisco University in Quito, has granted me a diverse and comprehensive understanding of political dynamics in Western Europe and Latin America. Over the years, I've supervised a myriad of BA and MA students, guiding them through their academic journeys and contributing to their scholarly growth. As a mentor at the Cologne Forum for International Relations and Security Policy (KFIBS), I provide career and professional advice to young scholars and students. With numerous publications in prestigious international journals and two books to my name, my dedication to the discipline is unwavering. I've led courses spanning Comparative Politics, International Politics, Political Systems, and specialized subjects such as populism, right-wing radicalism, and the intricacies of academic research. My desire to teach is fueled not just by my academic accomplishments, but by a genuine passion for sharing the wealth of knowledge and insights I've garnered over the years. I believe in empowering the next generation of scholars and thinkers, and teaching offers me a platform to directly influence and inspire budding minds.
