Learn Biology at a Deeper Level — From Understanding to Mastery
I am a PhD-trained molecular biologist and experienced researcher offering one-to-one biology tutoring in English. I received my PhD in 2014 from the UoC in Greece and my scientific work has been published in peer reviewed Journals such as MCB and JI. During my master thesis I was supervising the laboratory subject of Human molecular genetics for 3rd year Biology University students and during my PhD I supervised the diploma thesis of two undergraduate biology students.
My specialization is molecular and cellular biology, with doctoral research focused on signal transduction and transcriptional regulation downstream of the CD40 receptor.
I bring the perspective of someone who has worked with biology as a researcher—not simply studied it for an exam.
My aim is to help you understand why biological processes happen, connect concepts across different levels of biology, and develop the scientific reasoning needed to perform at a high level.

My approach to private lessons
I believe the best biology tutoring goes beyond memorising facts. My goal is to help students understand why biological processes work the way they do, develop strong scientific reasoning, and become confident solving unfamiliar problems independently.
I have a PhD in molecular biology, with research focused on cell signalling and transcriptional regulation downstream of the CD40 receptor. My scientific background includes molecular and cellular biology, cell culture, gene regulation and ChIP-based techniques.
My lessons are highly personalised. I first identify the student's current level, goals and areas of difficulty, and then build each lesson around them. Depending on the student, we may work through difficult concepts step-by-step, analyse experimental results, practise exam questions, or develop strategies for tackling complex biology problems.
For IB and A-level students, I can focus particularly on conceptual understanding, exam technique, data interpretation and connecting different areas of the syllabus rather than simply learning isolated facts.
For university students, I can provide deeper support in molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, biochemistry and related subjects, including help understanding research papers and experimental approaches.
Lessons are normally 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged when appropriate. I teach primarily in English and work with students from approximately upper-secondary level through university and postgraduate level.
My aim is not simply to help students get through their next exam. I want them to develop the kind of understanding that allows them to approach biology with confidence and think like a scientist.
