Om Elena
Hello! I am Elena, a musicologist and musician living in Örebro. My passion for music spans both deep academic study and hands-on performance, and I am excited to guide students on their own musical journeys.
Holding an Integrated Master's degree in Musicology & Music Education and a Diploma in Acoustic Guitar, I have spent years exploring the mechanics of music—from theory and ear training to song structure and performance technique. My background gives me a well-rounded understanding of how music works, allowing me to explain complex concepts in a clear, accessible, and structured way.
Beyond academics, my experience in live performance and creative projects has taught me that making music is ultimately about expression, connection, experimentation, and joy. Whether you are picking up the guitar for the very first time or looking to understand the theory behind the songs you play, I am here to support your growth in an encouraging and collaborative environment.

My approach to teaching guitar and music theory is student-centered, structured, and interactive. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Musicology, I combine solid academic foundations with a practical, hands-on learning mindset. I believe that learning an instrument should be an inspiring journey where we build skills together step-by-step.
Teaching Method & Techniques
I break down musical concepts into digestible, enjoyable steps. Rather than focusing solely on dry exercises, I connect music theory directly to the fretboard through the songs you love. My goal is to help you understand why music works while building strong technique, rhythm, and confidence.
A Typical Lesson Plan (45–60 Minutes)
- Warm-up & Technique (10 mins): Gentle finger exercises, posture, and tuning.
- Core Subject & Practice (25 mins): Learning new chord progressions, fretboard navigation, or song riffs tailored to your goals.
- Practical Music Theory (15 mins): Understanding scales, rhythm, or harmony through the piece we are playing.
- Wrap-up & Goal Setting (5 mins): Recapping progress and setting clear, manageable practice objectives for the week.

Who the Lessons Are For
Lessons are open to absolute beginners and intermediate players of all ages who want to learn acoustic guitar, basic electric guitar, or practical music theory. All lessons are conducted clearly in English.
