• Tell us when your interest in IT began and share with us (maybe with a bit of nostalgia..?) about your first experience with a computer.

  I think my IT journey started even before I knew what "IT" was! I remember being a kid in Karachi, fascinated by this old, bulky computer we had at home. It wasn't much by today's standards, but at the time, it felt like magic. I'd spend hours just experimenting, figuring out how things worked. Little did I know those childhood hours would shape my entire career!

• What is the technological development that has affected you the most and the one that will soon (in your opinion) transform the entire field?

  AI has been the most transformative for me-seeing it evolve has been incredible, especially with machine learning systems that are now almost conversational. As for what's next, I'd put my bet on quantum computing. When that becomes more accessible, it's going to shift the IT landscape in ways we can barely imagine right now.

• Explain your specialty, your interest in it, and more generally, its place in the IT world.

  My specialty lies in software development, but I love working on projects that intersect with data science. I'm fascinated by creating solutions that can automate repetitive tasks or analyze complex data. In the broader IT world, this area is all about making life easier and processes smoother-a constant drive to innovate and refine.

• How do visionaries like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, or Mark Zuckerberg inspire you?

  I think what's most inspiring about these guys is their vision to push the boundaries of what's possible. Gates with his focus on philanthropy and tech for good, Jobs for his passion for design and simplicity, and Zuckerberg for his early work in connecting people. Each of them made a huge impact in their own way, which makes you wonder what you could achieve if you thought a bit bigger.

• Do you have an anecdote related to your field or education that you can share?

  I remember one of my final year projects back at the University of Karachi was a bit of a wild ride. My team and I were up all night for days trying to debug this one pesky code. When we finally got it to work, it was like we'd just climbed Everest. That first rush of solving a complex problem stuck with me and still keeps me motivated in my career today.

• What would you say to someone who feels uncomfortable in front of a screen and says, "it's too complicated"?

  I'd tell them that everyone starts somewhere! I used to think coding was like learning an alien language, and now it's my second language. Start small, take breaks, and remember that it's all just a series of small steps.

• Help us get to know you better by telling us about your hobbies, whether related to IT or not.

  Outside of IT, I'm a huge fan of exploring Sweden's outdoors-hiking, camping, you name it. I'm also a bit of a foodie, so I love trying new cuisines and attempting to cook them (key word: attempting). And, of course, I stay up-to-date with tech trends; there's always something new and exciting happening!

• What makes you a Superprof (someone who can't be replaced by AI)?

  I'd say my curiosity and willingness to explore beyond the typical solutions. AI might have vast knowledge, but human intuition, creativity, and that willingness to take risks in problem-solving are hard to replace. Plus, I bring a global perspective-from Pakistan to Sweden-that shapes how I approach tech and connect with people.
