Om Allison
I am a driven 22-year-old college student currently pursuing dual degrees in English and Political Science at one of the most prestigious universities in the United States, Minerva University. My passion for education extends beyond the classroom, as I have successfully applied and been accepted into several top-tier universities, giving me a deep understanding of the college admissions process and what it takes to excel academically.
Drawing on my expertise, I offer college essay editing and revision services, empowering students to craft compelling and persuasive essays that showcase their unique qualities and potential. Additionally, I provide English language lessons that equip students with the skills they need to succeed in high school or university courses.
I am also the visionary founder of a Language and Culture student initiative at my university, which has garnered a membership of over 120 students learning 15 different languages. In this role, I advise native speakers on the most effective teaching methods and recommend a wide range of resources to optimize language learning outcomes.
My extensive travel experiences, which have taken me to France, South Korea, Taiwan, and India, have honed my ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural backgrounds. As an English tutor, I have helped numerous students achieve fluency in the language, unlocking endless opportunities for personal and professional growth.

As a private tutor, I view my role as a facilitator of learning, guiding students to achieve their academic goals through personalized instruction and support. My teaching technique involves starting with a comprehensive assessment of the student's strengths and weaknesses to develop a tailored learning plan. I use a variety of instructional methods, including visual aids, interactive activities, and real-world applications to engage students and make the material relevant to their lives.
The length of my lessons depends on the student's needs and attention span, but I typically recommend sessions of 40-60 minutes to allow for focused, productive learning. My qualifications include over 5 years of experience in private tutoring and working with organizations promoting educational equity around the world including PSCORE and Teach for India. Further, after learning many languages I can best help students to maximize language proficiency in the least amount of time possible.
My lessons are designed for students of all levels and ages, from elementary school to college level and beyond. I specialize in American English, but I also offer instruction in French and Mandarin Chinese. My goal is to assist students in developing effective study techniques, instilling within them a sense of confidence in their ability to converse fluently with native speakers, and integrating cultural elements into the learning process, all while creating an enjoyable and engaging experience that cultivates a passion for the language.
