About Me
Hi! I'm Avanti, and I'm here to help you actually enjoy learning English (yes, really!).
Why I'm Different:
I'm not your typical English teacher. With a Master's in Psychology and 15 years training professionals around the world—from Stockholm to Hong Kong to Shanghai—I've learned what actually makes people excited about communication. Spoiler alert: it's not memorizing grammar rules from a dusty textbook.
The Cool Part:
I'm also a trained mindfulness teacher from Oxford and founded a mental health platform called Conscious Together. What does that have to do with English? Everything. I understand how your brain works, how you learn best, and—most importantly—how to turn that nervous feeling about speaking English into genuine confidence. I've helped everyone from anxious students to stressed-out executives find their voice, and I can help you too.
What Makes My Classes Different:
Forget boring drills. We'll dive into topics that actually matter to you—whether that's current events, pop culture, social issues, or whatever you're passionate about. You'll debate ideas, analyze real articles and videos, and build language skills that work in the real world, not just on tests. Yes, we'll cover grammar (because it matters), but we'll do it in ways that make sense and stick with you.

A Bit About My Journey:
I've lived and worked in four countries, collaborated with NGOs fighting inequality, and even did research at Harvard on the Psychology of Diversity. I'm also a parent of two curious kids who keep me on my toes. All of this taught me one thing: the best learning happens when you're genuinely interested, appropriately challenged, and feel safe to try, fail, and grow.

My Approach to Private Lessons
I view private lessons as an opportunity to create a personalised, intellectually stimulating learning environment where students don't just memorise rules, but truly engage with the English language in meaningful ways.
Teaching Techniques and Methods:
With a Master's in Psychology and nearly 15 years of experience as a corporate trainer, I use a blended learning approach that combines:
Grammar drills to build a strong structural foundation
-Real-world materials (articles, videos, podcasts, current events) to make learning relevant and engaging
-Intellectually challenging discussions that push students to think critically while practicing conversational English
-Psychology-informed techniques that address individual learning styles, build confidence, and help students overcome language anxiety
My corporate training background means I bring professional-level communication skills and structured lesson planning to every session, while making learning dynamic and interactive.
Lesson Duration:
Each session is 45 minutes, carefully designed to balance focused grammar practice with engaging conversation and real-world application.

- Master's degree in Psychology
- 15 years of corporate training experience
- Expertise in personalized instruction and adult learning principles
- Skilled at creating intellectually stimulating, confidence-building learning environments
