  Spanish is my mother tongue, I have been exposed to it as a result of living most of my life in Colombia, later in life I became interested in our culture, fruits and increasing my knowledge on the particular aspects of language and communication in general.

  There is not a perfect representation of the Spanish speaking world and culture itself, we are mostly a huge mix of many different backgrounds that combine the western culture, native american tribes and african heritage, therefore Celia Cruz could be a good example to me, through her voice and music She is able to express the joy of being part of a paradoxical place called Latinamerica.

• Är det ett typiskt ord, uttryck, tradition eller beteende som du tycker är särskilt roligt?

  "Ahorita" is a word that represents one of the most contradictory aspects of time management in Latin America compared to Europe and other countries. The word "Ahora" can be translated literally to "Now" but often when we hear and use it in Spanish speaking countries, we notice that the timeframe this word covers might be longer than the one we are used to, leading to misunderstandings and sometimes funny situations. Just for the record, ahorita can cover anything in between the next 1 second and some months, depending on the context.

• Varför är det viktigt att kunna prata det här språket, oavsett om det är för utbildning, yrke eller av personliga skäl?

  It is not a secret that Spanish is widely spoken though one of the biggest continents in the world, being the core of a rich culture, with more than 500 million speakers spread around the globe and it is the official language in 21 countries. You can speak it almost everywhere you go.

• Vad är den största svårigheten med detta språk och vad kan göra inlärningen enklare?

  Every language has its own level of complexity, with Spanish as well as with any other consistency and discipline can beat any obstacle. The amount of countries where the language is spoken often leads to confusion due to the large number of variations and words used to refer to the same concept or object, this difficulty can be easily beaten by getting exposed to varied content instead of sticking to one single accent and finding equivalent words over time.

• Har du en anekdot relaterad till ditt yrke eller din utbildning som du vill berätta om?

  It is always rewarding to see how your students grow overtime, once they come to you with big fears, lack of confidence and it is great to see them later in life when they have passed through all these obstacles themselves, it is good to feel that at some point you are able to help others until they find the inspiration to believe then can do and achieve what they want.

• Hjälp oss att lära känna dig bättre genom att berätta om dina olika resor.

  I have visited "dream countries" for many people in South America, here is the list: Spain, Greece, Italy, Denmark, Netherlands, Sweden, France, Germany, Switzerland. But in every single place, rather than huge differences I've found in every place the same kind of humans doing things slightly different than one another but humans after all, with love and hate. Some of us do the dishes by hand, some others use a diskmaskin but almost everyone wakes up to work and goes to sleep with some details in between.

• Vad gör dig till en Superprof förutom förmågan att prata flera språk?

  I am a Superprof because learning and teaching languages is one of my biggest passions and a life purpose. It is one of the reasons I wake up everyday and while I am doing it you will find someone that will always do his best.
