Om Robin
I am originally from the Netherlands, where I did Graphic Design education and artschool both in Rotterdam and The Hague.
Since I graduated I have worked as Graphic, Brand and Experience Designer. Next to working in design I've always been involved in the art world. I have 10+ years of experience in screen printing, having worked in 5 different big printing studios.
After graduating I moved to California to continue working as designer as well as print making. Here I was introduced to the startup world and what I can do. Being a creative provided me with several benefits, next to helping with branding and design, also leading the creative teams and departments, running workshops and presenting in front of investors.
Currently I'm back to school, doing my masters at Konstfack, in Visual Communication. During my study I'm developing my art practice and looking for part-time work on the side. One agenda with going back to school is to eventually get into teaching. This can't start soon enough and I'm looking forward to see what can happen here on Superprof.

I am very much interested in art and design teaching to any level. Meaning from training artists and designers to teaching any sort of creativity, drawing or creating courses.
I have a great class in mind, circling around new technologies, like Ai, where we go back to what it means to be human, and what it means for humans to create. What would be the things tech, will never be able to do as well as we do? What is going to be important for teaching new designers and artists when most will be taken over, or run through technology?
Whatever new technology has entered the world of creatives, there's always been a need to start at the basics. The basics when it comes to completely reestablishing tech like ai, it comes down to basics like morals, creativity and "taste". Human traits that will most probably also be affected by future applications of Ai. Now al the more it's important to understand what can easily be forgotten, like soft skills and simply creating with hands.
I have almost 15 years of experience in the design world and have recently moved more and more into art projects. One thing that always been at the forefront or my work has been to add an edge, or forward-thinking. Questioning current ways of doing things and always keeping a healthy skepticism towards new progresses.
I'm looking forward to an opportunity to develop this further and to see where we can bring this together.
