Om Derrick
My name is Derrick Adjei, and I am excited to embark on this teaching journey with you. Hailing from Ghana, I bring a unique perspective and diverse experiences to the table. Currently, I am pursuing a master's program in Data Science with Machine Learning and Statistics at Uppsala University. This academic pursuit allows me to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field and further enhance my expertise.
Before undertaking my master's program, I had the privilege of working in the government sector in Ghana as a software developer. One of my notable achievements during this time was the development of a portal for the licensing and monitoring of continuous professional development for teachers in Ghana. This portal, accessible at (dold information) was instrumental in streamlining processes and ensuring the professional growth of teachers in the country. Through this experience, I gained valuable insights into the importance of effective technology integration and the transformative power of education.
Teaching and imparting knowledge to the younger generation is a passion of mine. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to teach kids coding using MIT Scratch. This experience has not only honed my teaching skills but has also allowed me to witness the immense potential and enthusiasm that young minds possess. I strongly believe in nurturing their curiosity and providing them with the tools they need to succeed in an increasingly digital world.
By combining my academic pursuits, professional background, and passion for teaching, I am dedicated to providing high-quality education and guidance to my students. My goal is not only to help them excel academically but also to foster a love for learning and equip them with the necessary skills to thrive in their chosen fields.

Private Tutoring Approach:
Private tutoring is a personalized and focused approach to education that allows for individualized instruction and tailored learning experiences. As a private tutor, my primary goal is to provide high school students with comprehensive support and guidance to help them excel academically and reach their full potential. I believe in fostering a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages active participation and engagement from my students.
Teaching Technique and Method:
I employ a student-centered teaching approach, where I adapt my teaching style and methods to suit the unique learning needs and preferences of each individual student. I believe in identifying and building upon their strengths while addressing any areas that may require improvement. By understanding their learning styles, I can employ various teaching techniques such as visual aids, interactive discussions, hands-on activities, and practical examples to make the learning process more engaging and effective.
Lesson Duration:
To ensure comprehensive coverage of the subjects and ample time for practice, I propose lessons that are 4 to 5 hours per day. This extended duration allows for an in-depth exploration of the topics at hand, thorough discussions, and sufficient time for students to ask questions and seek clarifications. However, it is crucial to maintain regular breaks within the lessons to maintain focus and avoid mental fatigue.
Qualifications and Experience:
I possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering and am currently pursuing an MSc in Data Science at Uppsala University. Alongside my academic pursuits, I have also worked as a web developer, gaining valuable professional experience in the field. This educational and professional background equips me with a solid foundation in computer science and data science concepts, as well as practical knowledge of web development.
Furthermore, I have several years of experience working as a private tutor, assisting students in achieving their academic goals. I have successfully taught coding, mathematics, and web development to high school students, enabling them to grasp complex concepts and apply them effectively. This combination of academic qualifications, professional experience, and tutoring expertise allows me to provide comprehensive and insightful instruction to my students.
Target Audience:
My lessons are specifically designed for high school students seeking support in various subjects, including coding, mathematics, and web development. Regardless of the level of proficiency, I welcome students who are eager to learn and improve. Whether they need assistance with understanding fundamental concepts, tackling complex problems, or enhancing their coding skills, I am dedicated to providing personalized instruction that meets their specific requirements.
By utilizing a student-centered approach, comprehensive lesson durations, and drawing upon my educational background and experience as a web developer and private tutor, I aim to create a conducive learning environment where high school students can flourish and achieve academic success.

First of all Derrick is one of the most reliable and trustworthy individuals I know, very polite, taking his time in an easy and efficient way to understand other peoples view points and needs.
He has a very broad domain of knowledge spanning Mathematics, Data Science, Data Engineering, Web Development, Database management and more.
Particularly, in his master program he was one of the few students that took the course "Applied Linear Algebra for Data Science" showing to me that he is willing to get a deeper understanding of the concepts that he is interested in.
Moreover, he is an ambitious person, having his own Software Development company and also having created web-applications from JavaScript files up until business advertisement level.
He is always looking for partners and ideas to try new projects and he is hard working.
