Om Dara
I have graduated from International Baccalaureate, with a score of 5 (high enough score to skip first year of University English) on my High Level English Language & Literature course. This advanced English course, in the already advanced and academically vigorous school institution, provided me with the best assured education for someone at my age. I have went through intense development of English speaking and writing skills, along with essay writing skills. I have written an Extended Essay (4000 word research argumentative essay spanning over 2 years), which is essentially the IB's version of a doing a Master's Thesis. All of this is to say, I am well educated in my background, more than almost anyone else in my caliber. The best possible use of my abilities would be for people of 18 years of age and younger, or people who are not fluent in English.

My teaching method is teaching English through people's interests. I believe the greatest issue with learning a language is not having any fun and engaging medium to learn it through. I will get to know my students, and teach them through mediums they all find interesting, in some way or another. I will use engaging visuals when making presentations, and include humour and wit to my dialogues with students. Learning a language should be more fun and exciting than it usually is, so that is why it is much more efficient if I work with people who are my age or younger, as it is easier to find things in common, or appeal to them.
For the mediums previously mentioned, they will include powerpoint presentations for quick drills on grammar and such, Movies or Videos (age appropriate of course) as hearing comprehension and pronunciation, book club readings for reading skills and vocabulary, and most importantly, conversations. I will converse with my students, and get them more well adjusted to speaking with people. I am currently learning Swedish, as I am not fluent in it, and my biggest issue, and the biggest issue I see with many people learning a language, is the anxiety and fear behind speaking to people. The fear of saying something wrong, or being judged is crippling to the process of learning a language, and I wish to aid those who suffer from this problem.
